PHOENIX – January 4, 2011 — When everyday activities like walking, jumping or climbing stairs become difficult for a dog, experts recommend a combination of solutions to manage the problem. That’s what inspired new Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew. It’s formulated with eight proven active ingredients with four different modes of activity that work together to help maintain healthy joint function. It manages inflammation, supports joints and muscles, maintains healthy joint fluid and reduces free radical oxidation. All of this multimodal action is delivered in a tasty, liver-flavored chew dogs love.

Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew combines the benefits of MicroLactin®, a patented dried milk protein from the milk of hyperimmunized cows which contains factors that appear to block cytokines to inhibit neutrophil participation in the inflammatory response*, with the added benefits of other ingredients which help maintain healthy cartilage and joint function.

Other ingredients include: glucosamine HCl, a major component of cartilage that may help maintain health and resiliency of joints and connective tissues; methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), a source of sulfur which helps support healthy muscles and joints; omega 3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) that serve a critical role as structural and functional components of cell membranes and manage inflammatory mediators while providing nutrients for healthy cartilage; manganese, a co-factor in joint fluid systhesis; plus zinc and vitamin E to protect cell membranes from free radical oxidation.

Each Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew contains 500 mg of MicroLactin® dried milk protein, 250 mg of glucosamine HCl from a marine source, 200 mg of MSM, 25 mg of omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), 5 mg of manganese, 2 mg of zinc and 25 IU vitamin E.

Available in 120-count and 240-count bottles, Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew is given twice a day; the dose depends upon the weight of the dog. No loading dose is required. Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew may be used as a primary supplement to help manage inflammation, or as an adjunctive therapy. Response is expected in four to seven days with peak response in 10 to 14 days.

Other products in the line include: Duralactin® Canine and Feline Liquid, Duralactin® Canine chewable tablets, Duralactin® Feline capsules, Duralactin® Feline L-lysine paste, Duralactin® Equine granules and Duralactin® Equine Joint Plus pellets.
