PHOENIX – December 7, 2011 — Does your cat miss the litter box? Has your normally friendly cat been acting grumpy lately? Can your cat groom himself as well? And did you finally teach your cat not to jump on the furniture or counters? It may be that he can’t physically do these normal cat activities. Based on a study published in the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association*, 90 percent of cats over 12 years of age have difficulties with normal activities.
When these activities like climbing, grooming or jumping up and down become difficult for a cat, experts recommend a combination of solutions to manage the problem. That’s what inspired new Duralactin® Feline Joint Plus Paste. It’s formulated with eight proven active ingredients with four different modes of activity that work together to help maintain healthy joint function. It manages inflammation, supports joints and muscles, maintains healthy joint fluid and reduces free radical oxidation. All of this multimodal action is delivered in a tasty, salmon-flavored paste cats love and in a syringe that is easy to administer.
Duralactin® Feline Joint Plus Paste combines the benefits of MicroLactin®, a patented dried milk protein from the milk of hyperimmunized cows which contains factors that appear to block cytokines to inhibit neutrophil participation in the inflammatory response**, with the added benefits of other ingredients which help maintain healthy cartilage and joint function.
Other ingredients include: glucosamine HCl, a major component of cartilage that may help maintain health and resiliency of joints and connective tissues; methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), a source of sulfur which helps support healthy muscles and joints; omega 3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) that serve a critical role as structural and functional components of cell membranes and manage inflammatory mediators while providing ingredients for healthy cartilage; manganese, a co-factor in joint fluid synthesis; plus zinc and vitamin E to protect cell membranes from free radical oxidation.
Each dose of Duralactin® Feline Joint Plus Paste contains 100 mg of MicroLactin® dried milk protein, 90 mg of glucosamine HCl from a marine source, 50 mg of MSM, 5 mg of omega 3-EPA, 4 mg of omega 3-DHA, 5 mg of manganese, 2 mg of zinc and 25 IU of vitamin E.
Available in 32.5 ml syringe, Duralactin® Feline Joint Plus Paste is given twice a day. No loading dose is required. Duralactin® Feline Joint Plus Paste may be used as a primary supplement to help manage inflammation, or as an adjunctive therapy. Response is expected in four to seven days with peak response in 10 to 14 days.
Other products in the line include: Duralactin® Feline capsules, Duralactin® Feline L-lysine paste, Duralactin® Canine and Feline Liquid, Duralactin® Canine chewable tablets, Duralactin® Canine Joint Plus Soft Chew, Duralactin® Equine pellets and Duralactin® Equine Joint Plus pellets.
